About Lauren Eirk & FIS OnDemand

My work in fitness began in my teens and has now spanned more than four decades. Over the years, I’ve served as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, studio owner, educator, presenter, and program creator. I’ve taught thousands of classes, trained other professionals, and worked hands-on with people of all ages, abilities, and health histories.

Currently, I am the owner of Fitness Integrated Science in Kentucky, bringing nearly 40 years of experience in Fitness and Exercise Mechanics. As a Muscle Activation Techniques MAT-Rx Full Body Specialist, I have helped thousands of people to optimize their muscle health.  I am a Certified Yoga Therapist, C-IAYT, and a Registered Yoga Intructor, E-RYT 500, and a Resistance Training Specialist.  I created FIS OnDemand, a platform with therapeutic workouts and education for adults over 50, built around my proven 5 Step Isometric Method.  I am an educator for other Health Professionals, and known throughout the fitness industry for many decades for the creation of my unique style of Yoga, called Yoga I.S.®, which integrates classical Yoga with the modern science of Biomechanics. I am frequently invited to write and speak for national health and fitness conferences and certification organizations in the fields of resistance training, active aging, biomechanics, injury prevention, muscle maintenance, and joint health.

But my path into this body of work was not linear—and it was not easy.

Where It Began

As a teenager, I struggled with anorexia nervosa and bulimia and was hospitalized at age 15 for in-person treatment. That experience derailed much of my high school life and forced me to grow up quickly. I had to confront deep issues around body image, control, and an unhealthy relationship with exercise.

During those years, I also experienced multiple injuries from over-exercising and sustained a severe car accident at age 17 that resulted in a fractured pelvis. Pain, fear, and physical limitation became part of my reality at a very young age.

Today, I am deeply grateful for those struggles.

I believe God allowed me to walk through those challenges so I could first learn how to heal myself—and then devote my life to helping others do the same. I never want anyone to feel trapped in their body the way I once did.

As my career unfolded, one truth became increasingly clear:

Traditional fitness often overlooks how bodies change with age, injury, trauma, and life experience.

A Shift in Perspective

As I continued my education in biomechanics, Yoga Therapy, and Muscle Activation Techniques®, my perspective fundamentally changed. I stopped viewing pain as something to stretch away or push through and began to understand it as information—often a signal that muscles were no longer supporting joints effectively.

That insight shaped everything that followed.

Rather than chasing flexibility, intensity, or fatigue, I began focusing on muscle function, joint integrity, and intelligent progression. The goal was no longer to “work harder,” but to move and strengthen smarter.

A Career Shaped by Experience

I went on to build and run multiple businesses, including a brick-and-mortar wellness center, while continuing to work directly with clients. Staying hands-on has always mattered to me. It allowed me to see patterns that don’t always appear in textbooks—how fear affects movement, how injuries erode confidence, and how the right kind of strength training can restore both.

My own injuries and recovery experiences further reinforced the importance of precision, patience, and muscle-focused training. Instead of avoiding movement, I learned how to train safely, progressively, and with deep respect for joint health—principles that continue to guide my work today.

The Beginning of FIS Online

When the pandemic forced my studio to close in 2020, I moved my work online by teaching live classes on YouTube. What began as a way to continue supporting my clients quickly grew into a global audience—many of whom were over 50 and searching for guidance they could trust.

That experience led to the creation of Fitness Integrated Science TV (FIS TV)—an online library of workouts rooted in muscle function, biomechanics, and joint-aware strength training.

As the platform grew, I began using the video library as “homework” for my in-person clients. What I noticed was powerful:

  • They required fewer manual treatments

  • They were more motivated and engaged in their health

  • Chronic aches and old injuries began to resolve

  • Confidence in their bodies returned

It became clear that this work could reach far beyond my local community.

The Evolution to FIS OnDemand

FIS OnDemand is the natural evolution of that journey.

It reflects decades of experience working with aging bodies, injuries, and complex movement histories. The platform is built around strategic muscle activation, progressive resistance training, and education that helps people understand why they are doing what they’re doing—not just what to do.

This approach isn’t about intensity, trends, or performance.

It’s about longevity.

It’s about confidence.

It’s about staying capable, strong, and independent as life changes.

FIS OnDemand represents my life’s work—refined, simplified, and delivered in a way that honors real bodies, real histories, and real lives.
